Inox Encampment (2nd try)

Image
We did it!  We kicked those Inox Brute's butts!  Wait, what? After feeling a bit dejected from a previous failure to show the Inox idiots at their encampment what for, we went back for another beating.  But this team we did the beating. Poor cousin Willy, so misguided.  His folks were so proud that he became an Inox Shaman.  They sent him off with tears in their furry little eyes as he went off to make the proud.  Oh if they could have seen him, all mangy and unkempt.   With the Inox Brute in our party, he felt obligated to set these poor bastards straight.  He said a short prayer for Willy's parents as he mowed him down. The Scoundrel was very active and made a last ditch effort to find more baddy Inoxes to kill.  At the very end the Inox Brute was barely able to stand but crawled to a chest and found a Horned Helm, or at least the presence of one (or more). But the big hero was the Mindthief, still standing proud (breathing heavily and...

Inox Encampment

Image
Confident in our past 2 missions, the party entered the Inox Encampment enthusiastically, perhaps a bit much so.  The Brute, feeling a bit embarrassed by his fellow Inox's behavior, jumped into the fray in hopes of a quick resolution.  The only thing quick about it was the beating the Brute took from his fellows. The Mindthief and Scoundrel  (all yet unnamed) were unable to compensate for the Brute's quick demise. The party left dejected and a little deflated.  Next time!  is now their mantra. Does the party try again, or go somewhere else? Barrow Lair

The party, yet unnamed, strode deeper into the barrow to find more nasty bandits and a bandit leader which summed a nasty undead Living Bones.  He mentioned the "Gloom" in an unnerving way which brought images of destruction to our minds.  We new this had to end here and now and through grit and determination quickly dispatched all the filthy beings in the lair. The fight started well enough and when we burst through the first door we came face to face with the bandit commander himself.  After we paused to listen to the usual monologue we got to business.  As we went to work on him and his minions, his jaw dropped at the quickness and prowess of the Mindthief, becoming stunned, then poisoned, then wounded in quick succession.  This made the commander easy pickings for the Brute and Mindthief while the Soundrel took care of business on the periphery.  In this fight the commander was superior (with 30HP) yet we dispatched him within only a few rounds.  B...

Black Barrow

After receiving some information at a local bar in Gloomhaven from the mysterious Jeskarah, our heroes, ok, mercenaries, paid their tabs started out.  As they were leaving town they encountered a quarreling mob which happened to be a workgroup disagreeing with their task master.  The Scoundrel made quick work of the negotiations and work continued (+1 prosperity).  The part ventured out to find this horrid sounding Barrow where Jeskarah's stolen documents would likely be found.
