Barrow Lair
The party, yet unnamed, strode deeper into the barrow to find more nasty bandits and a bandit leader which summed a nasty undead Living Bones. He mentioned the "Gloom" in an unnerving way which brought images of destruction to our minds. We new this had to end here and now and through grit and determination quickly dispatched all the filthy beings in the lair.
The fight started well enough and when we burst through the first door we came face to face with the bandit commander himself. After we paused to listen to the usual monologue we got to business. As we went to work on him and his minions, his jaw dropped at the quickness and prowess of the Mindthief, becoming stunned, then poisoned, then wounded in quick succession. This made the commander easy pickings for the Brute and Mindthief while the Soundrel took care of business on the periphery.
In this fight the commander was superior (with 30HP) yet we dispatched him within only a few rounds. Because he was stunned for many of the rounds, he was unable to do anything fancy, summoning only a single Living Bones and opening no doors. This worked in our favor.
Good news! We found the documents Jeskarah wanted, and as expected, we looked through them first. They were not legible but instead written in an archaic language. We did find a map relating to the "Gloom" titled "Crypt of the Damned". But instead I believe the party, yet unnamed, will continue to do Jeskarah's errands. She pays well, and the work is enjoyable. So next time it is off to an Inox Encampment to clear out some bullies.
