The Story So Far: On the brink of the Elemental Plane of Power

As we stand on the brink of the Elemental Plane of Power let's examine where we've been, and decisions that brought us here as well as our options at this point.

We start with a simple job to retrieve some papers from the Black Barrow.  This lead directly to the Barrow Lair.  Here we find those papers and returned them to Jekserah for cash.  All that seemed simple enough.  

We also discovered a new site, The Sulfur Mine.

While we didn't learn what those papers were, they archaic and mysterious in nature.  Alongside this was a map to "Crypt of the Damned", a telltale sign that this was going to get dark.  Also during this scenario the boss remarked about the "Gloom".

At this point we could either keep earning money from Jekserah by storming an Inox Encampment or investigate the Crypt of the Damned.

We chose to earn the money from Jekserah and went to the encampment.

Considering us useful, Jekserah gave us another job, to go to a Diamond Mine and grab "the biggest diamond we could find".  However we were approached by another agent which alerted us to the fact that Jekserah may not be as wholesome as her gold.  If we wanted to learn more we should investigate a warehouse near the water in Gloomhaven.

As we started to edge toward becoming a more curious group and looking to stem the tide of evil, we went to the warehouse and found the truth that Jekserah was dabbling in something she should leave alone.

Somewhere in there we also added the Windswept Hills as a sight to explore.

After the warehouse was completed, we were given more information to use for our investigation, but also we were told that  we were on our own to track down Jekserah.  The new places to look are, Vibrant Grotto, Temple of the Seer and Frozen Hollow.

At this point, the Diamond Mine was no longer interesting to us.

The party decided to focus on the current plot and headed to the Crypt of the Damned.  Here it seems the party is set on a new path, to investigate these Cultists and their relationships with elemental demons.

Continuing on this path, we chose to fight against the elemental demon lovers and went to the Ruinous Crypt.  This is where we stand now, on the precipice of a rabbit hole to unknown power.

See below for our options and reasons of possibly going down that path.
